uh oh... what'd I do?

Alright so after the JCR 1 ton steering upgrade install my steering wheel would max out when I turn right w/n one rotation, when I turn left I could get two rotations at least. So I took it to get it aligned and still have the problem. So they told me to go home take the pitman arm off again and turn the steering where one way untill it maxes out again and than count the number of turns you can get out of it and than divide the number by two and go back that number of turns to hopfully center the PS box. I did it and got 3 rotations, so i went 1.5 turns back and am still having the problem just a little bit. It wasnt as bad as it was before but It still doesnt turn right that well... Could it be that i possibly faucked the PS gear box up? They set the alignment up but at higher speeds i am still getting some narly wander.

i cant understand everything you just said, so im not sure if you centered it properly. basically you have to make sure the wheels and your steering wheel are in the very middle. once you find the middle, you should be able to turn the wheel to the left the same amount of turns you are able to turn it to the right. then install the pitman arm facing straight forward. or are you past that point?

but idk anything about installing a pitman arm or diagnosing a faulty PS box so im really no help.

For a stock ZJ box, you are correct, 3 turns of the input (or steering wheel) to go lock-to-lock on the output (pitman arm side).

You probably noticed that the pitman arm and the shaft are keyed so it can only go on in 4 different positions, each in 90deg increments. The pitman won't face straight forward (or perfectly perpendicular to the tie rod) but it will be close.

Center your tires/wheels, then center the pitman based off the 1.5 turns from one of the locks (either full left or full right) and connect the drag link. You will probably have to adjust the length of the drag link to compensate for however many inches of lift you have.

That should get you golden.

Did you remove the steering wheel linkage at all? Not that you needed to, just trying to think of why it would still be messed up after you did the above.

I think I had worked it to where the pitman arm was pretty darn straight, does it matter whether or not it is? MAybe in the process of making sure it was straight that it may have turned a bit?
