Tyres for WJ

My 2001 Grand Cherokee Ltd 4.0 is fitted with 235/65R17 Pirelli Scorpio AT tyres (tires ? ?) that look a bit skinny.

The wheels are factory fitted 17" x 7.5"

Looking around it seems that 255/60R17 will fit without problems, however I would realy like to fit 275/55R17.

Does any one know if this is possible without them fowling the steering suspension etc.

Thanks Htiek Bristol UK

For the 275/55R17's will have to get about 2" wheel spacers, and I think they will still rub.

They're about a 29" x 11.2" tire...it'll look kind of silly imo.

The 255/60R17's you can fit, but I think even they will rub on your control arm at full lock without, but it would be much more driveable than the other tires...they're about 29" x 10.2" if you were to get 1.25" wheel spacers there probably wouldn't be any rubbing.

Thanks for replys, think I'll try 255/60 with spacers if I can find some with AT tread. Most tire suppliers in the UK only seem to stock road tires in this size.
