Here is a twin turbo magnum Dakota. Wonder if it would work in a ZJ engine bay.

Why not pull the heads and yank them pistons out, replace them with 8.5.1 and still keep low end torque? this way your engine will last another 100k .

Good luck 'in house' tuning your engine .

nice. You must apply a 'TURBO' badge or decal on it somewhere...

really curious to see how this pans out.
efini, please post some pics and/or info on turbo builds - i was just thinking about this today - who has turbo'd their zj?
i have not yet but i have a 5.2 in here now wich will be replaced with an stroked 350 gonna start on it as a winter project. slightly bored over and will have edelbrock heads straight pipe from the heads towards the sides and will have a new tranny not sure what yet. and will get rest of driveline upgraded. yes it will be a monster everything i have is pulled ready to be build except for the tranny. when its all done its gonne be lifted 4 i the front and 4.5 in the rear looking at the power that comes off the rear. thought about putting all this in my 71 oldsmobile cutlass but having a zj like that would be pretty special cant wait to see final result!!!! is it just gonna be a turbo?

Here is a link to my firebird. This will not be my first turbo build. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...fications.html

I tuned my car myself. I will eventually do a piggy back ECM setup for tuning on the ZJ. It's just over budget at the moment.

Heat soak will be an issue dude, with exhaust and intake on the same side of the head AND No intercooler.. Id buy some good good heat wrap, and plan on doing a headgasket (MHG if you can find one) with some ARP bolts to ensure you dont lift the head.. That T3/T4 turbo you have? what brand ? whats the hot side size (when you expect it to spool) ?? is it just oil cooled or oil/coolant?..

Id be sure to have a wideband as well bro..
Watch your timming.. Pray for no detonation lol
Good luck man

Yeah, I plan on wrapping the header all the way to the turbo. Possibly make a heat shield under the intake manifold too. The turbo is a t3/t4 to4e 57 trim. It has a .64 a/r exhaust housing. It's a cheapy china turbo, but for the money, I've heard they are decent. I'm hoping to be into boost by 2500 rpm. I will def have a wide band o2 in it before I doing any boosted pulls. I have been tossing around the idea of a top mount intercooled, similar to Subaru, but I'm not to excited about having a hood scoop. Not my style. But if detonation is a problem, I may have to do it. I'm not gonna touch the head gasket for now, if it blows, I'll do a MLS gasket and studs.

Good plan bro, those china turbos like to have large oil feed and return.. other they starve for oil, then youll have a new blown turbo on your hands lol .68A/R is smaller you will make boost pretty early. 2500rpm no problem.. Im interseted too see how the stock ignition holds up too boost..
