Wires are what connect your plugs to the distributor and the rotor is inside the distributor

Go get a can of seafoam. May not improve mileage but it will definitely keeps your engine running smoother. Plus it's fun watching all the smoke run out of the exhaust!

If he has a 96+ filter is in the tank. No need to change it unless the pump goes.

My 96 has an inline filter. I think that was the last year?

I've always considered a new coil to be part of a tune-up.

Yea I just replaced my Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, ignition coil, TPS, cleaned my K&N filter, cleaned throttle body on my 98 5.2L. She runs so nice now.

Good question. The more 95-96 ZJ's I see with different parts the more of a grey area it is between the new and old.

Does replacing the distributor cap and rotor, really have an impact on MPG? I've done basically all that's been stated, with those exceptions. If so, which brand to replace with? Additionally, I've used Seafoam in the fuel, but never in the engine. Read thread to add seafoam to oil crank case ~100-200 miles before an oil change. Any downside to this? I change the oil every 5K miles and have since purchasing it new in '98.

get brass terminals on cap and rotor. Brand doesn't matter so much. Stay away from aluminum terminals.

Think also about replacing o2 sensors. PM Kolak for some great parts and prices.

If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.
