TSI model????????????

Hi,

Is anyone here familiar with the Jeep Grand Cherokee TSI model? I am
considering buying a 1997 JGC Tsi, and I wanted to know what makes this
model different from the Laredo and Limited.

Thanks.

The Tsi was designed to be more "street" than other ZJs. I think most of the diffs have to do with the trim package, but it also came with "street" tires, and possibly different sized wheels. As for the running gear, I'm not as sure, but it is likely the same.

The grand cherokee TSI is a 2wd, with a 360 for the engine. I've heard they fly....

The TSI never had the 360.
It had the 4.0l and the 5.2l option. It was available in 2 or 4wd.

It seems to be comparable to the Limited. It came with street tires instead of all terrain.

Mack:

The GC 5.9 Limited has the 360, thus the "5.9" litres. And man does if FLY. I wanted one, but the ones in my price range were otherwise crappy.

Just bought a V8 TSI 2 months ago as a project vehicle.

Seems to be as capable as the rest of the Jeep family (4LO) as a stock vehicle.

But i am finding out alot of stuff needs 'upgrading' for serious offroading.

The 249 transfer case is the real pig...it messes up the whole drivetrain...but i guess fulltime 4wheel drive has it's place on the road and on the car.

Mods so far -
K&N FIPK
Full Mopar skids
Rock-it diff guards (F&R)
Rancho s.stabilzer
Flowmaster 50 muffler

Immanent mods -
ORGS super nerfs - Dec 01
RE 4.5" - Jan 02
Tom woods R drive shaft - Jan 02

More 'distant' mods -
Trailready (F&R) bumpers
Warn winch
Roof rack
33" tires on 15" rims
Atlas transfercase
F&R HD drive shafts

Hope this answers a few of your questions.

Happy Wheelin'
