Trouble code P0720 on a 2000 WJ
Hey guys I know you get tired of hearing the same old problems but here I go, driving home from work today ( she was ) my wife calls me and tells me her jeep is broken (
) so when I get to her ( I have a 98 ZJ ) it cranks fine but the engine light is on. We go to Autozone and this code comes up. I know what the part is but what I need to know is if the tranny has 2 or 1 and if it has 2 do I need to replace both the input and the output sensors . thanks for the help guys, maybe I can be helpful in the future. oh btw i got a neat trick for fixing broken window rollers without replacing the whole window regulator.

WJs come with a 42RE transmission when the engine is I6 and 45/545REF transmission when the engine is V8. Usually a good idea to give the model year and engine type when asking a question.
42RE has a single speed sensor 45/545RFE has two sensors and since they are not very expensive and are easy to replace, many replace place both sensors when one of them goes bad.
