Transmission Swap 44RE to 46RE

Hello all, Been Following this forum and others for years, and I finally have a question that I cannot answer by searching your site

I Currently have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L Limited with a 44RE transmission, this transmission is now beginning to fail after 210K and I was looking if anyone had any information / Advice on getting it swapped out with a 46RE from a 5.9 model, (wiring/Connectors / if it will just mate right up or i have to modify it.

and has anyone done this swap before that you or this forum know of?

-Dan

Keep in mind that you need a 46RE from a 1998 5.9L Grand Cherokee. Dodge truck transmissions will not work as the starter mounts on the opposite side of the Jeep trannies.

1994 5.9L ZJ, retrofitted UC package, NP242 swap, 17" JK Moabs with 32" BFG MT KM's.
