Transmission problems.

When I take off after first starting it up, it feels like it's taking off in 2nd or 3rd gear. Anybody know why this is happening?

is it actually in 2nd or 3rd? in my '95 4.0 the TCM died and would keep the trans in 3rd all the time. replaced it and all was good

I believe it's in 3rd. And that's what someone told me to replace, but I wasn't too sure..

i got one from a junkyard that was like $40 and it takes about 5 minutes to change. its bolted on the firewall under the dash on the drivers side.
