Hello,

I am performing a tranny service on my 1997 GCL 5.2v8
and was going to adjust the bands per my Haynes manual.
The adjustments vary depending on the transmission model number. Problem is they do not want to tell me where this
model number is!!!!

I have found the serial etc on the left side above the tranny
pan but that appears to be no help.

My choices appear to be 44RE, 46RH AND 46RE.

My guess is 44RE because of the way they state the models following the 5.2/5.9 language before it in the manual.

The difference in backoff turns in the rear band adjustment between the 44RE and the 46RH,46RE is 2 turns.

If someone knows how to tell which transmission I have I
would be very grateful.

To bad this aint horseshoes eh!!!!

I suppose I can just skip it but it has never been adjusted and
there are 82000 miles on it.

i'm in the exact some boat as you...my 95 GC needs a trans service and i'm not sure which one i have...where did you eventually find out which one you have?...thanks
