Transmission Cooler

Hi, I've got a '98 Grand Cherokee, and the transmission line going to the radiator has a nasty leak... factory wants $130 for a new rubber hose... I want to put an aftermarket transmission cooler on it, (they are like $40 instead), and bypass the radiator...

will this work on it's own???? it seems bigger than the area of the radiator that is reserved for the transmission...

thanks in advance for any help...

An aftermarket cooler will work actually better than just the radiator cooler will.. especially if you mount the aux cooler in the air stream, like in front of the condensor.

bulkpart.com has some great coolers there.. and you can buy the adapter kit you need for an extra like 9 bucks if you want it.
