A jack under the trans after removing the crossmember is a good way to adjust the level prob not a good idea to just let it hang on the motor mounts

my 249 ds internal was shorter then 242 external luckly I picked the ds from the doner jeep get it done and measure for the ds you need I got a few laying around i'll get length and pics posted up incase any one wants one on the cheap
231 J signifies that it is a Jeep transfer case. All Jeep transfer cases have the letter "J" proceeding the model designation. You DON'T want the rubber boot (external slip yoke) for the easiest swap in any ZJ (unless it has a prexisting 242 with an external slip yoke).

Hey nice thread you wrote, really insightful. I have a 98 ZJ 5.2L Limited and want to remove the transfer case that's in there and out a 242 in there. Any chance you could build that specific T case for me? Let me know asap. Thanks

You drive a tj, we drive a zj. We have more power while you get more shower. We get the v8 while you get there too late. You have 2 doors well, we have 2 more. Ours costs a grand while yours has a price we cant stand.
