Transfer case,rear seal Repair ?????

So now!! I see My transfer case is leaking at the rear where the rear driveshaft goes in. It is a 231.
Do I remove the rear extension part #38 two replace the seal, or just take out drive shaft and pop seal out,and do I need to replace the bushing #39 also ,or not?? Is this the only seal #40. I need to replace to fix this leak??

Can you just buy the new tail cone assembly already with new parts in it?

I found the Transfer Case Housing Extension w bushing w/o seal, on line for ,34 and 44 dollars
Any suggestions on best place to buy ?
If the bushing is bad it just might be causing the vibration, I have been trying to track down ,What Do you all think ?

I would want a new bushing. If the bushing is worn out that can lead to seal failure.

I am chasing an annoying vibration, too. What is yours like?

96 ZJ Laredo, 4.0, 242, 230K
95 ZJ Limited, 4.0, 242, 140K
98 XJ Sport, 4.0, 231, 140K
All work well

Had to put in very very close to a whole quart of atf in transfer case,to fill it up .
I don't know when it was last checked,I just got Jeep Dec 3rd
Vibration hard to explain, but going say 50 slap in neutral it doesn't change,or any speed ,but is a little more vibration at higher speed
I is all the time ,but not constant,it's like a light vibration, vooba,vooba,vooba
Cant tell where it's coming from, does it going straight or turning
It does feel like a U joint and it could be,but I checked u joints (except at front wheels which I only looked at), no movement in joints,nor did I see any thing wrong.
So!! any one, whats the best way to check u joints
