trailer wire

Where is the t conector to jump in a trlr hitch plug?

My trlr is a 3 wire type ( L, R, and markers )

HOw is it possible to get the jeep's 4 wire to work with the trlr without a converter box? ( my jeep has L, R, Brake, and markers )

Thanks

You need a converter box to wire in a trailer. You trailer should have 4 wires. which would be left brake/turn, right brake/turn, marker, ground and the colors should be green, yellow, white, and brown.

Just go to autozone or any parts store, maybe even walmart and look up a trailer kit for your vehicle there.

You're talking about the same thing; 3 wires + ground = 4 wires
Diagrams for wiring in the factory trailer-tow harness are at wjjeeps.com, for example,

Doesn't he still need to buy the converter box? That link shows you how to connect a factory type plug and harness.

If your jeep does not have the factory trailer plug, then Hoppy part number 42535 is what you want.

You need a converter box because the WJ has separate turn signal and brake lamps.

Installation instructions for it are here: http://www.trailerwiring.com/inst/42535.pdf

Here's a pic:

Vicypoo is right :

His question is how to make it work without a converter box though....since it cost 35 bucks I think you'll find no one has ever bothered to try :P
