Trailer light problems

i have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee limited... with factory tow hitch and trailer wiring system.. i can not get my trailer brake lights or directional lights to work... everything else works fine... does anyone know what could be wrong... trailer works fine on another vehicle so it isnt the trailer itsself...

Sounds like a ground problem, that is if you checked the plug in at the jeep and all was good.

yeah checked plug under panel in cargo area... ill use a tester tomorrow to check for a ground short.

Check the plug that plugs into the Jeep. On mine I have one contact that wants to keep getting pushed into the housing, the retainer for the contact blade inside the plug is broke.
