Trail Spares
I'm trying to get prepared for GSW, and I was wondering about what spares everyone brings with them for a big wheeling trip? Specifically for people with an Aussie locked D44A, do you feel any need to bring spare axle shafts?
Right now, my list is not that long, and this is just spares/fluids not tools: -Spare D44A shafts (?) -Spare D30 shafts -Spare spider gears for D44A -couple quarts of 5W30 -couple quarts of 85W90 -couple quarts of AFT+4 -water/coolant -full size spare tire (of course) That doesn't seem like much, but there's not a whole lot of things that I'm that worried about breaking on my heep (that aren't already broken currently, that is).

I don't think I'd bother with 44a shafts and 31's...
But it doesn't hurt to have them, fluids and rtv are good. Drive shafts if you have them or can find some stocker ones for cheap for emergency. Spare tierod/draglink are good too, but usually you should be fine for the ride home even with a bent tie rod. I think what you listed is good enough + tools. If you guys are smart and use spotters, that helps eliminate alot of trail damage ![]()

I've got all the tools, etc. Brake fluid and parts cleaner is a good suggestion, extra hardware I'll definitely have to get some of that. Breaking bolts sucks! On that note, I guess a bolt-out kit would be a good thing to bring.
Really, the tools to bring along aspect can get out of hand real fast. Camping chair + cooler and water is a good suggestion, I probably wouldn't have thought about the chair. Keep it coming!

I wouldnt bother bringing any tools if arlo is going to be there
![]() It is silly though, you guys should have your own basic tools, but should try to divide things up between the group. SWB'rs have it a bit tougher than us though.

![]() But on a serious note it is nice to have all of those things in a clutch You might throw some quick snacks in since you're bringing water and a cooler. Something with some protein and what not to get you going since you're gonna be loosing fluid in 109* weather. I, for one, concentrate and think much better when my stomach isn't growling.
