Tow hooks attach at the frame (basically where the bumper attaches). Yes, you can leave the stock bumper and fascia intact. Check out Rusty's Offroad for the most complete, least expensive, OEM type tow hooks.

Kevinsoffroad.com has a cool radiator support with tow shackles. I just installed one and built a custom front bumper.

It is, indeed, a great item. However, you have to trim your fascia in order to install and use it...

Yup! I pulled mine off along with the bumper. You can cut wholes in the fascia for the shackles. I built a custom bumper and like the more rugged look. I also prefer shackles to tow hooks as there are less likely to have the tow strap slip off. The tow hooks are cheaper and easier to install though.

I took mine in to have a hitch put on and asked the guy if he had tow hooks and he had one so I had him install it $65.00 that was for the part and installed. He told me the holes were all ready there didn't have to drill any. this is the hook type. Its has come in handy used it a couple of times.

That's $120.00 shipped. Yes, that's about the best price around.

Coyote, without the reinforcing bracket behind that hook, you are in danger of ripping the hook out under tension, creating a deadly missile and damaging your Jeep at the same time.

Don't be crazy. If you mount the hooks without the towhook brackets, you're just fooling yourself.

Rusty's Tow Hook Install Thread

Here's a thread I posted on installing Rusty's Tow Hooks. Yes, the bumper has to come off and you'll need 12 - 14 plastic rivets because you're gonna break most or all of them.

Good Luck!

Does anyone know if more hardware is needed on these Kragen tow hooks? Or if these are cool enough for a Cherokee?
http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDeta...goryCode=3206B

Other tow hooks I've seen have more hardware and cost a lot more.

Thanks!

This is the Grand Cherokee forum But, because the grands are unibody, the mounting points must be reinforced or under load they can pull the bolts out. Very bad. Post No 2 in this thread has about the best price on Hooks and mounting hardwear Kevin, in post 3 has a reinforced member with shackles for about the same price. I don't know about Cherokees.
