I realize that the torque converter in my Jeep is supposed to lock-up at around 43 MPG. A common problem(?) with my jeep in the mornings is that the torque converter seems reluctant to lock up at all. After the transmission has warmed up then it works just fine. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?
1993 ZJ Limited 5.2 - no mods - Red with Gold (what were they thinking) trim.
Sounds normal to me. Mine locks/unlocks in third and fourth gear at different road speeds, depending on engine load. Seems less eager to lock when cold, but it will if going fast enough.
1995 5.2 ZJ Sold... but still in the family
