too much oil in my 97 V8 Laredo 4x4?

So it looks like I put in too much oil in my ZJ by 1 quart.

The oil comes up considerably above the last hash mark on the safe area on the dip stick.

I was able to drive the car about 35 miles since I did this with no problems.

Before I drain the oil I would like to know from the experts if I really need to drain it?

I believe my engine is the 5.2L V8 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4.

Thanks in advance!

Drain the excess oil or you could blow seals. Moving parts need space to move. If they don't get it, they will make space. The oil can also get foamy which does not lubricate well. It's easy enough to do so stop being lazy.

1 qt over won't hurt a 318... it will probably burn off that quart soon anyway

It was probably just 1/2 quart maybe 1. We pumped it out the dip. PIA but not worried anymore.
