Too much bling?

Has anyone painted their grill gold. Mrs. Radiac's ZJ is the Hunter Green with the gold trim. I need to do some work on the front and was wondering how it would look, the grill is faded now, so something has to be done.

Whaddaya think . . . too much bling, just plain ghey, or might look OK?

IMHO that's a lot of Bling but you're talking to a guy who got rid of his pimp daddy gold, so I wouldn't add any. Looks out of date, again IMHO.

err ... that does sound a little bling-ish to me ...

conjures thoughts of a certain model of lexus ...

how bout another coat of whatever was on it originally? or maybe some rhino liner?

If you need to ask if something is too much bling....well....

Seriously though...do what you want to with it, and make sure that it keeps the MRS happy. I'm not a big fan of gold trim on any vehicle, but hey...I ain't your wife, so you don't have to keep me happy!

Before I did the black wheels, lift, and bedliner mods to my Dakota, most people that I talked to thought I was insane. As I was grinding off the light-colored paint on the lower body panels in prep for the bedliner application, a guy I worked with came by and said "wow...I remember when this truck was worth something." Once it was all finished, almost all the people that had been naysayers before suddenly changed their minds and decided they liked it. I've gotten nothing but compliments since then.

So if you've got an idea for it, play with it and see what happens. Worst case is that it turns out bad and you end up buying a new grille.
