so than a hp30 for sure for the front and a d44 is out of a xj correct? Would it be smarter to get a d44a so its bolt up rather than a d44 if my future plans is for 35s maybe a year down the road?

If you have the ability and skills to fab up some mounting brackets for another axle into your Jeep, get an iron 44 and you'll be happier. However if you don't, just get a 44a and bolt it up.

An XJ 44a isn't bolt up - they're leafs so right off the bat you'll ened to set it up for a ZJ's 5-link.

i have a buddy who can do the new mounts and everything so i am not too worried about that. Is the front axle of a hp30 bolt on?

It's a direct swap. However, I'm not sure if all HP30's have the same pinion length.

Your LP30 should have the long pinion & if the HPd30 you get has a short pinion you might need a new drive shaft. Yours will be too short.

alright so i went to the junkyard and couldnt really find a hp30 simply becuase i donno know what they look like and all of the tags were covered or didnt have a tag... I did find a zj v8 with both its axles, i wasnt sure on the gearing ratio but figured if worse comes to worse i may as well but than last night i found these on craigslist.com
http://ventura.craigslist.org/pts/669667970.html Tell me what ya think, ya know if i can get a kiler deal i may just upgrade to 33s and run these axles and call it a day.

those are the same axles as yours but w/ a locker and maybe gears already installed it may be a good way to go. you will have to decide.

I think it wil be cheaper for me in the end... atleast at my age haha. Stick with my IRO 4.5" lift ( soon to get LA ) and 33s with gears and lockers will be just fine dontcha think? I think if i were to go bigger i am just digging a hole in my bank account some more.
