TIres and gears

I have a 93 ZJ limited (straight 6 Alltime 4wd, Automatic) all stock except for a 1 inch body lift and rancho 5000's (thats how I bought it) I am putting on an additional 4.5 in RE suspension lift and replacing the 1 inch w/ a 2 inch body lift. I also want to run 31 or 33 MT/r's. Will I need to change gears when I run these bigger tires or will the stock ones perform well enough. I am also installing ARB lockers front and rear will this have any effect on the gear ratios?

You might struggle with 33's and the I6 using the stock 3.73.

4.10 for 33's will be fine...you might want to jump straight to 4.56 gears if you plan on running 33+ tires in the future.

Check out some of the gear calculator charts.....

It has all time 4hi. And you can put a body lift on a ZJ. Quadretec has a 2 inch bodylift for the 93 - 98 ZJ. Thanks for the gearing info.

I was thinking the Grand Cherokee was unit-body with integrated frame? Just wondering how a body lift would work?

It is in the quadratec monthly catalog. I will double check but I do believe they had a 2 inch body lift for the 93-98 ZJ.

Sneeze,

the lift (body) is actually a coil spacer. You can add that to the top of the 4.5. You're going to go from stocker to Tonka very quickly. You will need to regear for tires because your 3.55s aren't going to cut it.

You will need to get all adjustable control arms and a new front drive shaft if yours is the CV one.

I apologize it is a polyurethane suspension lift.

(PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Here's a great way to lift a '93-'98 Grand Cherokee to fit 30" and most 31" tall tires without spending lots of time and money in the process. It's a simple yet well engineered method of suspension lift. The Kit includes coil spring spacers for the front & rear along with longer bump stops. Allows for greater tire clearance without compromising the factory ride quality and with a less complex installation. )

Sorry I mistook this for a body lift
