tire pressure monitoring
I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee overland 4.7L I have a message Bad/missing tire sensor. But all the tires register the pressures, and I have re-trained the tires (including the spare) but still get this message. What do I need to do to get rid of this?

wait, so your positive you dont have a bad/broken sensor? including the spare? will it pull up the pressures off the display in the cab? do you have the tires set at the right pressure? (32psi i belive?) if its too low or too high, it will set it off too. and you must do a relearn, some shops have a special comp for this.

I have been dealing with this exact some problem. I used this link to run a test on the sensors and I found out that they were not sending a signal as often as they should. So I am replacing all of the sensors. Here is the website:
http://www.wjjeeps.com/tpms.htm It is towards the bottom, it is called "Tire Pressure System Test"

All tire pressure is set correctly. On the overhead display, it only shows the 4 tires. The spare tire info only displays if the tire pressure in the spare is low. At start up, I get a bad sensor message, but then when I press the button to display the tire pressure, the message disappears, and will only re-appear after re-start up.

took it to goodyear to get new tires. They hooked it up to 2 different scanners and still can't figure which one is bad. They have one scanner just for TSP monitoring and it said all 5 work fine. But I still get the message at start-up

If you have replaced the tires since you've owned it, someone could have broken the sensor installing the tires. I know I did this once at work, a nice ~$90 sensor
![]() I'd say take it to the dealer at this point. As much as you don't want to, they will probably be able to figure it out. |
