tinted my windows!

I did it. been wanting to do it. It woulda been 85 to get the front two done 35% and I wanted 20% to match the rear so I did it myself. took 3 tries but i like it now. ... on a side note. my brand new, less than 2000 miles on them firestones are losing air lately. DOn't know what it could be if not a leak. Might upgrade to the fierce attitude MT's anyone run those? enjoy the tint!

looks good. Im thinking about tackling it myself on the jeep. really got nothing to lose. If it doesn't turn out can just take it off. looks like yours turned out great. tips? soapy water and squeegee?

I'm not even close to a professional. This was my first ever try. the first time i did horrible. So i tried something different. I would suggest rolling your window down about an inch and a half first and then squeegeeing that and getting the top good, and have the bottom half folded up during this so it does not stick to the door. Then once you get the top good, roll the window up and do the bottom. on my first try i left the window up and there was about an inch gap that was not tinted because where i cut it. If you mess up cutting it you could do what I did and run a line of electrical tape on the inside and you can't even notice from the outside and doesnt look too bad inside

Is the first pic the before pic and the second the after?

First pic looks like it already has some tint, just doesn't match; color anyway.

They are both afters. I know what your saying though. Straight from the side they look greyish while the back looks black. I lloked on the instructions and it said it will look cloudy for about a week and it has since cleared out a bit. Still a little grey, but a lot more black than this. It was about 9 days ago I did this. The picture was about 3 days after doing them. Hope this helps

The first time I tried I used a different kind of tint and it gave it a blueish tint to it. Ill try to find a pic of that tomorrow for you guys.

Good job, looks great!

I tinted about 4 vehicles over the years, definitely a technique to it, especially on a car's curved back window!

I had 5% over stock on a previous zj and it looks insanely good but night driving was a pain. 25% all around would seem like a good fit for me. It would darken the back more and still be legal up front. Might have to try this at home later.

What are the stock rear windows tinted to? I want my fronts to match them.

My friend has 5% all around on his truck and I talked him into taking it off and doing 20% and he liked it way better with 20. My next jeep will have 20 again. And thanks! I've gotten better at it. I've done about 5 other cars now and I'm no professional but definately getting a lot better.

Looks like most people are saying its around 20%. That just seems a little low to me though.
