Thunk Whunk (when hot)

After highway driving in my 93 GC 5.2 full-time 4wd I get a sort of thunk whunk sound (or more correctly feel a thunk whunk through the steering wheel) when making slow tight turns. This does not happen when cold or after driving around town. This is a new problem. Any thoughts on cause/repair?

Not at all... Just a SWAG, I would say maybe cv joints, but that shouldn't be temperature-sensistive. Occurring when warmed up suggests viscous coupler, but I didn't think that would be felt so much through the steering wheel. Hmmm.....
