I kinda like em. I have not searched for any pics of mods done to them because they are the main reason im going to sema this year. I wanna sit next to a mean FJ on 44's and aftermarket bumpers and fenders and then make my final decision on how I feel about them. I wanna be able to see under it to get a close inspection on what will break besides the plastic panels.

its not a jeep..the new "offroad" campaign toyota is running sounds good...but i have personally watched a brand new taco come into whee we all go wheeling get stuck get unstuck courtesy of a jeep and then leave right after that with its tail inbetween its legs (or rear wheels if you will?)..
keep the jeep (it even rhymes. thats a sign from higher beings!)

Toyo's have aways been decent wheelers.. I would definitly look though the reviews and some personal experience.. I dont like the looks alot but that isnt to say it wont grow on me.

Saw one on a trail a couple months back. It did ok except that it had no lift so scraped against everything...

Looks are in the eye of the beholder -- if you like it, that's what matters. Mechanically, the FJ is closely related to the 2005+ Tacoma, and there's a lot of them around by now, so should be good info available.

I saw some really tricked out ones at the LA county fair
ARB bumpers w/Warn Winch 4" lift 18" wheels and BFG M/T's K&N intake has the same hp as the GC but with a V6 I like the way the interior is setup and I havent had a vehicle w/suicide doors since the 66 Linc Rag top not to mention its NEW and within my price range

Check out the build in this month's edition of Peterson 4 Wheel and Off-Road. The FJ they are building is sweet. I think the FJs are decent looking and they do come nicely equiped and ready to wheel for a stocker. Here is the link about the build: http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/2006ultimateadventure/ultimatefjcruiser/colorado/photo_01.html

This is not the place for a Toyo discussion. I won't close it, but you can bet Hunter will.
Keep the Jeep. Toyo parts are VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!! Saw one break an axle shaft about two weeks ago and it was over $450 per shaft shipped up here. The dealer wanted closer to $750 for just one shaft! I have two spare sets, but in checking shipping for me up to here I can get a new shaft up here for less than $180, and a really good one for less than $300. Stick with the Jeep. Everything needs parts eventually and I like stuff that's cheaper to fix in the long run. I don't bother with Toyo's after getting a tour of one of their plants about seven years ago. It was crazier than the Ford plant I toured about ten years ago. With all the robot arms going everywhere you have to expect a few mistakes from time to time. We saw a hood get mangled as two arms moved at the wrong time. The guide tried to hurry us along quickly when that happened.

I would say to check it out, but also check out the new JK wrangler...however when C&D did their review I believe it did come in dead last with the H3 right in front of it...biggest complaint being it had no room in the rear seat.
It looks like a toy to me, and if I got another toy car it would have a removable top ![]()
