Maybe in a lawnmower or small buggy.... but if the vehicle weighs more than 1500 pounds don't waste your time

I own a 2wd 98 zj. It was bought down in Texas and they had an option of 2wd since it's pretty much flat down there.

Now that I live where it snows... Winters are bearable I just take my time so the rear doesn't fishtail too much

2wd zj...

Here in Austin I see a lot of 2wd ZJs, including my daily driver. I bought it because it was the best vehicle I could find at the time I was looking for the money I had to spend. My girlfriend says I'm slowly replacing every part.

I guess I should pay closer attention...most of the ZJs i've seen in DFW and Houston have been 4wd, including mine. Though lately I haven't paid much attention.

It's really odd that ZJs are mostly 4WD around here, because there are a LOT of Patriots and other newer Jeeps around here that are almost all 2wd, I haven't seen but maybe 1 4wd Patriot around here, in Boston it's totally opposite (I know because of snow).

I rolled like that for a year after mine grenaded and then one night i got my front tire stuck in a hole and had to be pulled out by a ford. So the hunt began( i was determined for that to never happen again). It took 4 months of junk yard and CL searching and it paid off got one off CL that had less than 90k miles on it for 40$.

There are a few around here. One in particular I used to see sit in front of a tire shop. It was lifted, ARB bumper, roof rack, everything. I wanted mine to look like that one! I finally stopped by one day to ask about the lift and tires: 4.5" with 32s. I asked him how it did off road. He said "Offroad? I never take it offroad!" I asked why not and he said it was a 2wd, for looks only...

'94 ZJ, 4.0, D30/D44A, 4 1/2" lift, 32" tires, 3.73 gears, etc... Just another cookie cutter ZJ.

Mall crawler. haha

I honestly have maybe seen 2 or 3 2wd zj's or xj's. Living in Utah, Arizona and now Mass 4wd is the norm.
