Is there a catch in the valve cover under pcv

Under the pcv valve there's a catch right? I broke the pcv

iro rear adjustable track bar, carolina driveline u joint front driveshaft
replaced transmission at 162k with a junkyard one that had 102k.

On mine there was and I took it apart thinking I would get it out. No luck, I just put it back on there. How big was the piece that fell in? Mine broke off flush wit the valve cover, so I lost about a half inch of pcv down there maybe a little less.

I pulled the cover and took it out thanks tho
