I think Teraflex has provided pretty good service with this mishap. Many companies would just send out a mass email saying they canceled your order due to a system error or something along those lines.

If this causes you to never be a customer again, Teraflex is probably relieved. Who wants customers that expect parts for nothing?

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for a good deal and I'd take as many as I could get at $1.11 a piece. But at the same time, I'm also reasonable, so when they come back later and say that was a mistake, I'd say yep, I figured, thanks anyways.

I understand what you're saying here, but the fact is that they are backpedeling on a transaction where the customer has already done more than their part.

They set the sale price at the wrong cost and onlt after they sold out did they catch their error. I dont know about the US but here in Canada if a retailer sets the wrong price they are basically obligated to sell you the item at the marked price. This is bait and switch, they had ZERO issues selling out of the product at $1.11 but then when they had none/saw order volume figured to up the price since they only need 1/11 customers to accept the new price to make the same $$$

Its not like that here is the US.

Companies have protection against pricing errors.

Its like walking in to Best Buy and seeing a $2.00 price tag on a 60" flat screen TV. Best Buy does not have to sell you that TV for $2.00.

And if you look at the Teraflex online store, they have this disclaimer:
PRICING ERRORS: Every effort is made to prevent Pricing errors however they may at times happen. Please see our Terms & Conditions For complete details.

They charged my card for my order, THEN came back and said "oh wait, we don't want to sell those that cheap." That's not cool.

Has tera flex refused a refund to anyone?

Has tera flex actually charged your card/account with the higher price without your approval?

If you guys went into this KNOWING that is was too good to be true, why are you disappointed?

You are absolutely correct Ryan. If they end up Overcharging you [in Michigan, I have no clue on other states], they are required to give you the difference + 10 times the difference NOT to exceed $5.00. So you basically get the difference they charged you and they get a $5 slap on the wrist.

However, tera flex is not in Michigan and i do not think they have overcharged anyone.

Did they charge you at the $12.99 or the 1.11 price?

Yep, its Michigan law and its commonly called the Bounty Law. Its very specific.

Coincidentally it doesn't apply to auto parts.

Really? I did not know the auto parts exclusion, but I can't think I have ever been charged wrong on auto parts... they have always corrected it at the register.

I spoke to Mindy at Teraflex and she feels bad that this has caused such a stir. She said she has convinced the company to make an offering at a compromise for those who wanted the spacers. Mindy said she will get the price changed for 24 hours on the web page and that even if they run out of blems she will do what she can to make sure everyone that wants spacers gets them, probably using non blems. She couldn't get the price to 1.11 because cost is many times that amount but she is trying. After a day the price will go back to the normal 12.99 if any blems are left.
