Tell me why I shouldn't do the 5.9 swap.

Okay,

My 5.2 definitely needs some work. It was started only twice this calendar year.

I'll be purchasing either the 5.2 again or 5.9 this week.

Only reason I can think of not to do an engine swap would be to do a vehicle swap instead. You might at least consider purchasing a 1998 5.9 and transferring your lift, etc. over to it. The prices on 5.9s have dropped radically over the last couple years.

true, and then you could join the 5.9 limited club,

however, i think it will cost more to do a JEEP swap, than an engine swap.

Orvis is not an engine, it's just a green paintjob.

Kolak,

while you maybe right, I'd have to chance the DW, get a new front driveshaft, tear down what I have and put it all back on. I know that what I have works now. I'd be chomping fenders and having to put the dents in the same places to make it "feel" the same.

knowing how you wheel and so on...you have to go with a 5.9 just for the tq and hp side of the equation.

Because you should stroke out the 5.2 and rebuild it instead
