My question is why do you need one? The rear driveshaft is long enough on WJ's that its not necessary unless you go above 6.5" of lift.

And I don't really know the difference, but my TC is labeled NP242

NP/NV - same thing...Tom Woods sells a SYE for the 242 for $500 ($400 core charge returned upon receipt). I'll be ordering one here in the next month or so...

I thought the NP was on the ZJ's and XJ's??? I've always thought it's a good idea to have one even at a 4" lift. Leaks, vibration, snap u-joints?

So it only ends up costing you $100 when its all said and done? Or its $900 up front, and $500 in the end?

Whats the point? I haven't heard of anyone needing an SYE on the WJ's...what are the benefits to justify the cost? Thanks

if you break a u joint in your rear driveshaft right now, your transfer case will leak all its fluid after you remove it and have to drive.

The SYE Kit & shaft cost $500.00 + s/h. plus you have to install the reworked shaft in the T/C
Just put in atlas instead....saw one today at local 4X4 shop, that things huge...//would it fit in a WJ ???
At 6" of lift I have alot of noise at 50mph+, I just removed front shaft to be reworked, hopefully with both shafts in I can keep the radio not near MAX anymore
