swaping laredo climate control w/ Limited digital control

has anyone ever tried swaping the regular laredo climate control with the digital one that comes in the limited?

I remember reading about someone trying this over at www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums under grand cherokee forum. You'll have to use the search function.

hey atlien,

did u ever find anythign out about switching the controls...?


White 1995 ZJ I6 w/ Selec-Trac, Plush Leather Seats (powered in front), JVC MP3 deck (STOLEN), New Kenwood KDC-X889 Deck (Insurance messed up and gave me this instead), Pioneer TS-A1680R Speakers, Remote Start, Optima Red Top, 180 Thermostat, Kolak Performance 2.5" exhaust components: (Car Sound high flow converter, Magnaflow large case muffler, mandrel bent tailpipe), 16x8 Rubicon Rims with 245/70 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo Tires, Rancho SS, Mopar Skids all around, Tow hooks front and back, Bilstein Heavy Duty Shocks and Clear Corners. [B]149/B], and still going stro... OK My transfer case can a small leak... damnit!.

Cannot be done, at least not without spending a small fortune and replacing most of the AC/Heating components.

Wouldn't you not only need the control box (switches and digital display) but the brains of the operation (unless it is all done in the switch-box unit) and the sensors for checking temp and the like?

Just dont do it

To tell you the truth I wouldn't the system in the limited really sucks I like the laredo's system its very simple basic and easy to use and it doesnt give you that annoying Err message so just dont swap them.
