Surco Safari rack

Got mine today from Summit. If I mount it on the OEM cross bars it seems too tall and I have not figured out a way to mount it to the roof sliders.

What have others done ? and pics would be nice if you have them.

BTW, On the stock roof bars, if I remove the rear slider caps will the cross bars come off that way ?

Thanks,
Mark

GO to summitracing.com and get the mounting kit for it. Just take some 1x square aluminum tube and paint it satin black and use 2 of them underneath to reinforce it, if you are planning on putting a tire or anything heavy in it. The rails will slide off by taking the plastic caps in the back loose.

I must have got the universal mounting kit that mounts to the cross bars, now I see why I couldn't figure it out. Thanks.
