Superlift Truspeed

I installed it the other day and I have to say I'm impressed. My jeep rides much smoother, the computer shows 17mpg, and my tranny shifts smooth as hell. If you have a WJ with bigger tires, I suggest you buy this thing and calibrate your speedometer. Your ABS, Tranny shift points, and Fuel timing are all determined by your speed sensor, and correcting the false reading brought on by larger tires (even if it is from 29s to 31s) makes a huge difference.

If you recall about a month ago I posted that this product could be the answer to many WJ owners problems. With this success story I will be purchasing one when I lift my rig.

Do you have a link to this product and do they make one for ZJs?

(yes, price is high but to recal. your speedo and odometer not to mention help tranny, I think its worth it.)

DeathMobile, What did the install/programming process consist of? Was is Plug and Play (or Plug and Pray)?

You just need to give it power and ground...then pull the plug on your abs computer and tap into the speed sensor wire. I ran all the wires with the factory harness and drilled a hole in my firewall to store the actual module in my glove box. I did it all nicey nice with wire loom, but you could bang it out real fast if you wanted to. Once it is installed you just need to read the book to find out how many turns you need to calibrate. It is just a little keyway in the module itself that adjusts for tire size and gear ratio.

oh yea. it was definitly worth the money. I got mine for 179.99, and it was worth every penny. Unlike a throttle body spacer, this actually does good that you can see

4.7?

Do you know if this will work with the 4.7 or 4.7HO engine. The superlift application guide does not specify engine.

i wouldnt worry about this with a ZJ in my opinion. You can calibrate the speedo via a $13 plastic gear that plugs into the TC.

I don't think you need to worry then, sounds like its one size fits all.

Just curious, what was your MPG before install and how much highway vs. city do you drive to get this 17MPG? The reason I ask is my Jeep is stuck on 15 MPG but is almost entirely city driving. This is with stock everything and lifting with bigger tires scares the hell out of me for MPG change.

I noticed the JCWhitney add only showed years up to 2000 Grand Cherokee's. Is there actually a difference from 2000 to 2004?

Puma, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Could you tell us more about it (where can we get it and how to choose the right one)? Thx

On thier website (Superlift) , the product is listed from 93-03. Also if it covers both ZJ and WJ, I would think it could cover the 04's as well. It sounds like a one size fits all application.

it was reading 13.5 before i recalibrated. I get 16-17 around town now, and 24 on the highway doin about 70

The only vehicles that need this particular module are ones with electronic speedometers that take the signal from the abs computer. if you have a speedo gear in the transfer case, you can just replace the gear.
