I've got a 4.0 needing a new tailpipe. A muffler might be real nice too. Wonder if the boss would mind?

I just ordered the Thorley headers from Kolak in prep for an
exhaust upgrade later down the road. If there's a Christmas
discount possibly in the works...oh yeah, I'd definately jump
to upgrade sooner to take advantage of that.

Kolak: A-arm ball joint to arrive today. Thanks for the update on the headers, btw.

If finances allow I would be up for a Christmas up-grade discount. Is there now a non crushed Y pipe offered? And what is the shipping on the exhaust system? Have to factor that into the equation.

the y-pipe is usually modified by an exhaust shop. you can easily run a 2.25" to 3" converter pipe from before the cat then put it all on.

I'm going to write up the copy for the sale and post it in the vendor forum over the weekend. Still trying to figure out how to summarize all the various exhausts in one post without confusing everyone out of their minds LOL.

Stay away from the Summit Exhaust - esp if you have a 4.0. I got it to pass inspection and because it was a winter vehicle for the wifey (Mustangs don't do well in NY winters). I don't think a V8 would sound great with this kit either.

Muffler is like **** - the 3" piping is too big. Its like yelling into a cave, imaging the muffler doing that! More niose than anything else. I replaced it down the road with a FM 50 Delta series SUV - sounded a bit quieter, except over 1800 rpms.

It's my fishing and hunting mobile now. I just trashed the piping a month ago and put a 2.5" down turn after it and now it sound much better. Its quiet and I can drive normal around cops and not puss-foot the gas. I wish I recorded sound slips so everyone stays away from this kit.

Get it if you're in a pinch, else stay away.

BTW: its not on the TJ. Its on a '93 ZJ, 4.0

Nick,

Mike here from Michigan, we talked on the phone quite a bit about my 5.9, did you post up the Xmas special yet ?

I am in for the exhaust when you do. I need one of those too, maintenance maintenance, but how the hell can I complain as I bought the 5.9 for 900 bucks

Let me know
