STUPID SECURITY SYSTEM! How do I disable it PERMANENTLY?
well, I searched a few threads, all I came up with was this one:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showt...sable+security
I need help COMPLETELY DISABLING my security system.
Tje secuirty system has been drawing power from my battery even while im driving, and as a result, now my battery is dead, so I can't start up my car. I know its the security system, because after I got my car becak from the mechanic, the security light on my dash was always on, even when I was driving.
ALso when I jump start the jeep, the security system goes crazy, and the lgihts start blinking, and there is no way to stop it. I cant do the passenger side door lock then unlock and open and then clsoe door trick either, because I have to keep the keysin the iginition (because once I take the keys out of the ignition the car stops running, and I can't start it again due to the dead battery).
so pelase, is ther any way to premantently disable the stupid security system?
can i cut any wire or soemthing, I just dont even want it anymore!!! please help
thanks

ummm yes arloguthrojeep you are a genius
i took it to autozone, and since the security woudl go crazy (as I mentioned in my post above)
, the security system would draw anywhere from 13-15 volts (because of the flashing lights, I assume). SO the autozone guy thought the altnerator was going crazy. But i insisted on waiting until the lights stopped flashing adn for the secuirty system to automatically disable, and then he checked the alternator again, and it was working fine.
So thanks arloguthrojeep for your wise words!!! you saved the day!! HOORAY
I still need to know how to disable the security though.
woudl this work:
Underneath drivers side rear seat there is a wiring harness with a purple wire and yellow tracer. You need to tap into that wire with a wire that is connected to ground. This will disable your factory alarm. I just recently did this on mine. Be careful to use the purple with yellow tracer and Not the purple with white tracer!
I dont know where a ground wire is that I can connect the purple yellow tracer wire to though....

I don't know how to disable your security system. But I do know that if you can't find a ground all you have to do is take a piece of wire with a round connector on the end, screw it to metal somewhere with a self tapping screw and viola, you have a ground.

And I hope you don't start your Jeep on fire by grounding a wire that should not be grounded. If it starts to arc, pull it away before it welds itself to your Jeep.

ok. Ill update you soon. one quick question also:
alright.....
I got a duralast red top right now, probably not as agood as an optima
BUTTT
OK, DO i need a new battery?
my battery jstu got drained dead by my security system, so my jeep wont start anymore. Can I just recharge the battery (the guy at autozone said he could recharge it, it would take like an hour or so)
Or do I need a new battery? right now the battery does not work at all if I try to start up my car. no electricity at all.

I wish I was at work right now, I would be able to help you. I work at BestBuy installing car audio, car alarms etc. and we have a "forum" type thing where other BestBuy installers post tips on certain vehicles. Also, we have access to diagrams that tell us what color wire does what for any vehicle. All we do, is type in the make and model and it tells us what wire does what. Since we install car alarms, I would be able to tell you what wire does what for the stock alarm.

Stan the wire you are looking for should be in the drivers door panel near the lock switch.
