Stripped Lug Nuts

Is there any tool or way to remove a stripped lug nut from being over tightened.(wrench wore down the flat sides of nut, keeps sliding ,getting worse)Looking for something that will grab it to remove it before I get a flat ,and replace it with a new one(s).The other three wheels are fine.

if you have an old socket that you can maybe get on it to get it off -- may have to use a hammer to beat it on and then u could get it off...

do a search for "lug nut remover" on matcotools.com... they sell sockets that will take them right off....
PS- try the other methods first!

Just like said above, pounding a smaller socket on is the best way. Had to do it before for some locking lugs that I didnt have the key for. Same thing the tire shops do.

I use this also for stripped bolts etc.. A nut buster just might do the trick also.

I had 3 lugs on my WJ that would not come off after we bought it.

I tried it all...including my 600ft lb impact gun...they were stuck. I ripped open several sockets, tore them right in half...

So...if your good....you can torch them off...without damaging the wheels.

I had a local shop do it and it worked, left very slight brown marks on the clear that came right off with some polish.

Sounds like a idea but same with the chisel, one slip and the wheel is done.

Ripped apart? Did you use impact sockets?

Do you have a buddy with a welder? Weld a socket onto it as a last resort.
