Stripped front cv axle stud

I have a 02 grand with np242 and on the front right axle the hub nut stripped out and now the axle is useless because the nut wont go on. My question is, is there a truck that I can switch that outside cup where the abs tone ring is with to not have to change the whole axle. The axle is 100 from autozone but awd is cheaper. Is there a difference and can this be done? Thanks for any help.

how bad is it stripped? is it just the end threads?

Why not chase the threads or run a die over it and get a new nut?
