Stright Six Fan Forum!

I recently recived some bruiseing and friendly joust from some V8 JGC lovershttp://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/about-buy-1994-gc-limited-s-280110/ So I made this thread hoping to find some stright six fans ! I love my I6 and would never trade it for the V8! I dont know about you but it seems to me the V8s dont last as long as the I6 and have some front end trouble.

CAN I PLEASE GET SOME I6 LOVE IN THIS PLACE

With your 32's?

I6 love here! I don't have any regrets about not getting a V8...As soon as I started offroading I stopped caring about speed and relaxed my driving style a lot.

I love my 4.0, but I would trade it for 4.7 if i could.
But it is really amazing engine. And I also got used to the lack of acceleration etc, and I'm happy with it. And I also know, that it will work for me for many, many years. At the moment 52K on her, but I think I'll pass 150K one day

I6 forever, may it rest in peace since they no longer make them. I will keep my I6 until it dies then rebuild it and go another 200K+.

Previous Jeeps: 84 CJ7 (A True Jeep), 2000 XJ (163,000 Miles/Totaled (Pictures of wrecked Jeep in gallery)), 2004 WJ (parting out die to major electrical issues)

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time to do it over.

The debate continues. Usually people will rave about what they own, and downgrade any others that are different. I've owned the 4.0 in a Cherokee, 155,000 miles, no problems, '93 ZJ 232,000 miles, no problems, son's '93 5.2 221,000 miles, egr valve only problem, but the wife's '96 5.2, with 140,000 miles, I'd take in a heartbeat over the Grand 4.0. About 1.5 MPG less, but much quieter, smoother, and needless to say better acceleration. My WJ Laredo 4.7 is the best yet, with better mileage than the 5.2, and much better driveability. My daughter's Hemi Grand is great, but mileage suffers (14) and the extremely hard seats and backrests are not to my liking.

Actually the 4.0 Cherokee has about the same acceleration as the 5.2 due to the vast difference in weight.

Don't get me wrong, I think the acceleration of the 4.0 ZJ is fine, considering I drove it for 7 years, and even used it to tow a few cars home, but if I had the choice, I'd take the 5.2 in the ZJ, and as stated above, my preference would be the 4.7 over all.
