Strange noise when turning

I have a 4.0L ZJ 4x4 with about 200K miles. I have a strange, I would say thumping noise, and my jeep goes up and down as well when I take a hard left turn. It only happens when the jeep is warmed up. Does anyone have an idea on what it could be?

Thanks,
PhoenixZJ

Do you have the 249 transfer case? Those sound like symptoms of a bad Viscous Coupler. When the fluid inside goes bad it makes it 4x4 all the time so that would be the hopping around turns.

Check your rear sway bar bushings and links. How is the condition of the shocks?

How are the control arm bushings?

I believe it is the 249. It only hops around when I turn left. It's smooth when I turn right. The bushing were just replaced and shocks are still good. Control arm bushings probably need to be replaced. I know at least the upper ones do

If the only options you have on your transfer case are 4hi N 4lo, then you have the 249. If this is the case the above quote is spot on

Do some figure 8s in a parking lot and that will tell you the condition of the VC.

Do you have U-joint axles? A bad joint can cause this too.

So I did some figure rights and it happened on both sides so I guess it's the vc I need to replace?
