Stock JK wheels with a BB on a WJ

Hey all,

So this might be a dumb question but done flame me for it... So im in need of new tires for the dub and i need new rims too. Im torn between buying soft 8's and retreads from treadwright or a set of stock Jk wheels and tires from craigslist.

The softs 8s and retreads would be ~ $700

The JK wheels and tires are $500

The dilema is that the JK's are 255/70/18 if im not mistaken which would make them about 32X 10. Would this run ok on my dubjay with only a 2'' BB? I would love to save the 200 bucks and get some larger rims and tires. Clearance and fitting is the only thing i am worried about.

Thanks, Josh

You can run the JK wheels and tires but you will need to trim, extend bumpstops and possibly get some wheel spacers depending on the backspacing.

Bump stops only if you are going to be flexing out. You'd be doing a lot of trimming with ~32" treads though...

When I was on my BB, I would get some rubbing with my 30.5" tires when turned and in reverse. So if you plan on only going straight, you'll probably be fine. But if you need to turn at all, you'll rub.

I have those rims and tires on mine and I only had to trim off about 1/4" off the bumper most of the rubbing was on the plastic guard protecting the fog lights and that stuff. I dont have wheel spacers yet but they are fine right now.

32's are not going to fit nicely, if at all stock.

To the OP, you will have to trim right behind the fog lights. I can't say how much but probably 1/2" - 1".

lapinski89 could you put up some pics of your setup. I really wanna know what this is going to look like. Thanks for the estimate gatorayde, seeing as i have never trimmed up my dub before im a little hesitant but 1/2'' doesnt sound too bad

I have JK wheels but I'm on a 3" IRO lift. My girlfriend wants a 2" BB and hopefully I can squeeze some JKs on hers too.
