When you fix the wires, it will probably start, if the fuses are good.

finally replaced the O2 sensor. USPS rerouted it from IL to GA and then back to IL ugh. hooked it up...nothing. still not getting spark, still not reading that there's gas in it...my next thought is that the computer shorted out? or maybe the distributor cap...

Put an ohm meter across that 20 amp ASD fuse or replace it anyway. Let's totally eliminate that sucker.

O2 wires are fixed and taped up, right?
Distr. cap is tight and the rotor underneath it looks Ok ?
Coil and wires are good?
Battery connections are clean and tight? Ground wire to fender is tight?
All sensor connectors are tight? No frayed wiring anyplace under the hood?

If you got that far....try wiggling the 3 plugs on the computer....then try to start it. If it starts, wiggle them again to see if it will die. If so.....you need a new PCM. ( $225)

O2 sensor and wires are replaced.
dist. cap and rotar are fine.
took out the coil and it was cracked in about 4-5 places so we replaced that.
battery connections are clean and tight (new battery)
no frayed wires and all sensor connectors are tight.

wiggle the wires on computer???
also where would you put a ohm meter on the asd relay? dash still isnt reading any fuel in the tank but the fuel pump runs when i try to start it. i looked up that asd relay and i imagine that is the cause for both. its not recognizing the pressure so it will not start.
I will replace that now. running down to the napa in town shortly.

ok....im dumb. rechecked all the fuses and there was a little yellow 20 amp fuse that was blown. replaced it then looked at the fuse diagram and its the auto shutdown fuse. when you said the ASD relay i only looked at the black one and didnt think to check any of the smaller ones. it caused the dash to read no gas, and casued the no start. its back up and running, a lil rough from sitting there for 3 weeks. happy to have it back and running! we did look up ways to check the pcm and noticed that more often than not ZJ owners' computer goes out and needs to be replaced. it was never recalled by chrysler though even though thats a big saftey issue. they refuse to claim the problem as their fault. Thanks for the help OldFrog!

I said ASD fuse. Glad you found it !

Save up $225 and have it ready for a new PCM...cuz it's going to happen eventually.
Book mark this site: www.autocomputersdirect.com for future reference. I bought mine there and it works great.
