Steering gear box upgrades (used search first)

Hi,

time to replace my ps gear box. I only run 30-31" tires and wheel moderately hard.

In researching this it seems my options are;

-oem equivalent
-oem equivalent w/KOR steering box brace
-Dodge durango steering gear box. with or without KOR brace (bigger than stock but no 4th hole)
-Grand wagoneer box (no beefier but has 4th mounting hole)
-J20 truck box (beefier and with 4th mounting hole)
-hydo assist

So, i have a couple questions after searching the forums.
-What do i really want with my size tires?

-Whats up with the J20 options? Are some auto parts stores selling the smaller box (for the J10?) as a replacement for the J20? The stores i'm checking sell the same box for J20 and j10 throughout the 1908's but different ones for each truck in the 1970's. My impression is that i need to go with a J20 from the 70's and switch it to o'ring fittings for this upgrade?

-Which years have the larger (3.5 I believe bore)
-how can i tell
-Which years have the o-ring vs flared?

Im not concerned about the age of the boxes as i plan to use remanufactured parts.

THANKS!

Past the druango/waggy upgrade to get the 4th bolt the next big thing is to go straight to hydro. At the point of a mechanically stronger box you're just gonna torque the frame rails and pop it.

For 30's stock should be fine, kor brace and durango box should be fine up to 35s? Stock or durango box can be tapped for hydro.

i did expect that for my (relatively small) tire size, you guys would suggest the stock or durango box with the KOR brace. Thanks!

I would still like to know the J20/J10 steering box stuff just out of curiosity if anyone has a handle on it.

From what I read, j20 box is basically the same as a 3.5 bore waggy box.
