Steering box brace - worth it?

Hi all, first post. As the title says, would it be worth it to get a steering box brace to reduce the chances of damage? I just do easy and moderate trails (stock tire size, no lift) so would it really be necessary for me?

It helps take flex out of the steering. I dunno if you'd really notice a huge difference in feel but it may be a bit stiffer/tighter feeling after it. Its not really needed in your case IMO

Nah, it's really a band aid for people that should have gone hydro assist but haven't.

Until you have wider rubber it's not gonna help.

My buddies steering box broke off of the frame highway driving and 33's. He had extra wide steel rims that were very heavy though. I personally have not had a problem with that even with my old ZJ on 33's. It does limit the amount of flex that the frame metal has where the box bolts on though. IMO it's a good piece of equipment.

Never have had any problems with my ZJ.

XJ has had a few issues. Once the brace was installed, no problems.

I would have probably gotten one a long time ago, cause that whole area to me looks flimsy. Its the issue with the lower hose that held me off.
