Starting the 5.9 swap.... BUILDUP THREAD!

Hey guys, this is somewhat a plug to show you guys what my next little endeavor is on my rig. I picked up a wrecked 5.9 ZJ and am swapping the motor and tranny into my jeep. I'm going to use this thread to document the progress of a motor swap in a ZJ. Should be quite the difference in a 5.9 and my little 4.0/42RE combo.

If any of you guys need 5.9 parts, they are available here.

YES!!!! This is AWESOME!

Did you keep the 5.9 hood? You might need it, those lavures are there for a reason. If it is the same color I would use it! It might be cool to install the grill too, to have the whole 5.9 effect. Also I am sure you are going to use the radator out of the 5.9 or something better!

The hood has has a spot where it's missing some paint. This thing was crashed into a fence on the passenger side and in the front so I don't think the grill is salvageable. This thing is in great condition otherwise.

Just so you know Puma, the 5.2 clutch fan/shroud will cool a 5.9 with no trouble.
I have a spare V8 airhat if you need it. Lots of other parts too you may need. Sensors, etc...

thanks I may be in touch with a few parts I might need.

Blaine, the hood and grille are no more. I will probably put the hood louvers on mine. I am going to get started on everything this weekend. Now will you flame me if I have a V8 badge on my hatch?

Good luck! The only "issue" should be the wiring.
