Speaker wiring question

Does it matter which color wire goes to the large or small spade on the door speakers? I cut mine to add a small section of wire and didn't pay attention to which was small or big terminal.

To answer your question. It does matter.

1993 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0L AW-4

when i did my rear speakers the colors were the same right and left

positives were one negs the other
