FWIW Autolite sells plugs with the side electrodes already cut if you want to try them:

They run $3-$4 each so they're pretty reasonable for a set and you don't have to monkey about with doing it yourself. Just add AR to your part number. So the 3923s become AR3923

Thanks for the info guys, I think I'm going to try the autolite 3924's as I'm at Walmart right now and this is all they have for my application. They are cheap and easy to replace so if it doesn't work out... No harm no foul... Except maybe on a plug lol
