I installed rockford fosgare component speakers in the front hung two rockford 6x9 in rear, they are in boxes, with a rockford 650 w amp, one 12 inch kicker comp with a 1600 w autotek amp. An Alpine single din head unit. It rocks!

Currently I have 4 kenwood 3 way speakers I think. Cheap on sale at best buy and sounded better than the pioneers in the same price range. They are on a old kenwood amp have a kenwood kdc248u head unit. Then a fosgate p1 10 on a Jensen 4 ch. 6ga to a distribution block then 8ga to amps. Getting a dc audio level 3 12. Going to get a kicker zx 1000.1 amp for that. 0 gauge power and ground. I'm going to build a center console and put a set of speakers in the front. Both fronts will be on the kenwood. Then get another set of 2 way speakers and put in the back for the back seat and get a set if dash tweeters. The tweets and rear speakers will be on the Jensen. Eventually I am going to do the big 3 and get a wj 4.0 alt, probably run a second battery in line with the power wire untill then.

Kenwood DDX8017 Double Din
2 Rockford Power T1s on a Rockford Power T1500 amp
2 Rockford Power 6x9 on an old Rampage amp I got for free
4 6.5in Pioneer 4way speakers in the doors.

Amps are on their own Charging system. I removed the A/C and replaced it with a second alternator. I use a Duralast marine battery on a ford explorer alternator. I honestly find that the Duralast marine battery is holding up much better then the Kiniteck 1800s I had and any Yellow or Red top I used lol.

Its all done half assed. I gave up on the system and decided to take care of the more useful aspects of the Jeep.

Sawsall grinder, flat head screw driver as a chisel. It doesn't look pretty but it doesn't look bad. I'm eventually going to box off around it to fill in the sides.

As for the rest of the unfinished system that will probably never get finished. Heres the pics for all that.

The cheap little yellow amp for the 6x9s cooked itself. its now replaced with an even cheaper little blue amp

BUT...I am surprised that these "boom boxes" are still popular? I had Cerwin Vega 12" back in the early 90's Perhaps someday I will upgrade my stereo again; it is "on my list" LOL

How's come all the crazy big sub boxes never have any carpet on them? Another question. Eventually I'm going to have 6 speakers. Front door speakers. Then probably some 5 1/4 in my front console. Havnt decided on 3 full sets of speakers in the front to keep most sound coming from the front stage. Then a single set in the rear. What do you guys think are some good 2 ways. I have one 4 ch amp that is 65 watts rms per ch at 4 ohm. And I would have to look at my other 4 ch but I think it's a little less. What do you guys think?

3 Reasons:

1. People who are serious about car audio go through many different enclosures until finding what works best, so committing to one box is out of the question.
2. We go through different subs, so different subs mean different specs for the enclosure.
3. Most people on the quest to get the most out of their subs, really done care what it looks like as long as it works.

And I've had 4 different subs in 5 boxes in 2.5 years. Each box was furnished.
