From my previous thread here: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/d...nside-1480778/

Today with the help of ejschultz, we soldered my headlight switch, fog light switch and dimmer switch, basically the whole module was soldered. We went to go put it back into the Jeep and I still have the same problem.

-As you saw in the video ALL lights are out (dash board, HVAC, GDM, Drive selector [P R N D 2 1], and all my Selec-Trac lights)

-Radio still lights up on its own

-When my head lights are on, in the auto position or manual position, my tail lights DO NOT light up. Got stopped tonight from a LEO to warn me.

-Break lights still light up as normal when you press the break pedal

-When the head lights are in the AUTO position and you tap the breaks, ALL lights that are mentioned in the first part of list and as seen in the video all flicker, turn on and off.

-When the head lights are in the MANUAL position, when I hit the break pedal, none of the above mentioned happens. All lights remain off

-When head light switch remains in the MANUAL position, when you go to open the drivers side door, the chime to let you know that your head lights are still on doesn't go off at all

Erik thinks that maybe my Auto healight relay has gone bad? All the crazy stuff in my list all happens when the headlights are in the AUTO position.

What else can my problem be? Soldering the module didn't work..

This is a real bad problem, I need to get this fixed and have tail lights. Some else please chime in and help???

Crazy! I just like watching the video!

Check Junction Block Fuse#17 (15 amp) with meter/tester.

Does Parking Lamp Relay (in Junction Block) click when lights are switched ON/OFF?

Remove the LOM (Lamp Outage Module), plug the connectors together.

Do you by chance have a diagram with all fuse locations and relay locations?

BTW, I found another Jeep that has my EXACT SAME PROBLEMS!!! In his title of his youtube video, he said Grounding Problems In The Steering Column??????

I'd check for a loose or shorted wires under the dash. Possibly a loose ground. ????

Thank you for the locations of the relays and fuses!!

I have a feeling it is the Auto headlight relay. All my lights go crazy when the knob is switched to the auto headlight position. Nothing when I have the headlights turned on manually.

Pull the cigar relay and swap it in for the auto headlight relay. Test the lighter first so you know it works. It might literally be a matter of unplugging it an plugging it back in to free up some corrosion like the flasher.

I do know for a fact that my cigarette lighter works as well as cigarette plug next to it. Seeing that I have an iPhone, needs to be charged every 4 hrs

Are both the cigarette rely and auto headlight relay one in the same (like for like)?

BTW, when we unplugged and plugged my turn signal flasher relay yesterday, well on my way home the turn signals stopped working again

This stupid a$$ JEEP is begining to piss me off

Swap the relays around as mentioned above and see what the result is.

Update!!!!!

Ok so I switched the auto headlight relay with the cigar rely, no dice. Cigar relay still works using the auto headlight relay. Still have no lights

Then I started checking ALL the fuses under the kick panel where are the relays are located. Using the first image below, if you look towards the bottom right corner, I found a 15A fuse blown. It is labeled #17.

I replaced it with a 20A fuse just to see what would happen, my interior door chime started ringing again with my headlights in manual mode. So as I was walking around from the front passenger side of the jeep to rear of the Jeep I could see smoke coming from the a$$ end. I immediately pulled that 20A fuse. I then decided to look at all the fuses under the pwoer distrubtion block under the hood. It blew my fog light fuse (small 20A) and it blew my big fuse (20A) for my lights for when I tow. That fuse is connected to the positive battery terminal. So I'm wonder that smoke that I saw, if that was a connection by my rear tail lights that just got super HOT?????????

So I then wanted to grab a 15A fuse from the distribution block to see what would happen if I replaced the #17 fuse. As soon as I plugged it in, it immediately popped.

I guess when I removed that 15A fuse from under the hood, i lost power to my radio?? I dont even know anymore.

HELP!!!!

Your going to need to find where that smoke came from and repair any damages there before checking anything else . Might be the fix to all , but definitely needs attention now
