snow plow

Not that i'm going to push snow with my 95 tired old Jeep, but I'm interested to know of anyone that uses their Jeep for plowing. I would think a Quadratrack don't cut it. Maybe with lockers and a np242. At least a 4 inch lift and some good tires. I would be afraid bending the unibody let alone the airbag going off

I would assume that you would also need much stiffer coils, or leafs to support the added weight of the plow.

I've seen rangers with blow blades on them, the set-up might have been intended for ATV's but if it moves snow out of the way, then I guess it works! If I had more faith in my ZJ lasting another winter, I'd look into it to make some extra cash.

I've seen a few in salvage yards that used to have plows on them. Cracked frame rails

There are two mid 90 xj's running around buffalo here with plow blades. One is at a fine local watering hole and is not road-worthy. Been that way for years. It does a fine job. As said above though...I would not do it, IMO, the unibody isn't strong enough.

My dads CJ does just fine, a ZJ would do just as well if it's got some decent tires. They make nice fiberglass plows these days that are lightweight and the plow is supposed to fold over on top of the snow if it's too much snow. If it's installed properly all the stress would be straight in on the frame rails which should not be able to damage it.

IMO I wouldn't try it unless it was already junk.
