I love them shiny parts that come in dusty boxes!

Well, I just grabbed one of these to install. $97 total to my door. If it was my Jeep I would have put the cubby in there but the owner wanted to stay with the original configuration. Anyway, just in case there is another person that may want one of these, here's the link. It looks like this place bought a bunch of overstock because you can buy individual VICs or discounted if you buy them by the case of 27. http://horizonindustries.com/vic97.htm

Wow, didn't think you could even get any "new" ones anymore, mines burnt up as well, been deciding on if I want to replace it or rip it out.

I'm scared my ZJ will BEEP for days if I get a working VIC in it though haha

Most of the time NOS is a great deal. Just got a 235.00 DDM for 25.

My 93 has the original VIC, except for one bad capacitor. I like having the date and time, the low oil level alarm, and the lamp out warning. I know people have trouble with the VIC but mine has never given me an incorrect beep so I'll keep it. $85 for a NOS VIC seems reasonable.

Even the 93-95 VIC is still an active part number. Dealer price $1300, give or take.

I never thought I'd like or need to have the date and time, but now that I have it I love it! Still don't think I'd pay to replace it though.

My VIC just burned up last night and after having it for the last few months, I'm going to replace it. Not sure why but I like having it down there.

I like mine too. The lamp out reminder is nice to have as well as the date and service distance but I'm not sure if I'd replace it if it ever did go out
